This sparked outrage among social media users who accused Potato Corner of discriminating against people based on their appearance. Some even humorously suggested that the job posting seemed more suited for a beauty pageant than a fast-food restaurant position.

In response to the backlash, Potato Corner issued an apology for the inappropriate job posting, expressing regret over the incident and promising to review their hiring procedures. They also pledged to work closely with their franchisees, suppliers, and business partners to prevent such incidents from recurring.

Meanwhile, Lola Nena's, a Filipino meryenda store, cleverly capitalized on the controversy by posting a job advertisement that contrasted starkly with Potato Corner's. Instead, they emphasized the importance of passion for food and people, respect, kindness, and love for language. This approach resonated with netizens, leading to the post going viral and garnering significant positive reactions.

Despite the controversy, both businesses continue to operate, with Lola Nena's even sharing a photo of their bakery products alongside Potato Corner's famous fries, captioned "Happiness is always better when shared."
